16th Emir of Kano meets England’s manager Thomas Tuchel in London
The 16th Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi II, has met with former Chelsea and England football coach Thomas Tuchel in London.
Although details of their meeting on Saturday were not disclosed, the encounter between the former CBN governor, a prominent traditional ruler and the renowned football tactician drew attention across social media after images of the meeting surfaced.
Malam Sanusi, known for his global engagements, was seen sharing a moment of conversation with Tuchel, who managed Chelsea to UEFA Champions League glory in 2021 and has held coaching roles across top European clubs.

Posting the pictures on X, Northern Nigeria Facts Zone, @ArewaFactsZone, wrote, “His Majesty the Emir of Kano, Khalifa Dr. Muhammad Sanusi II, PhD, CON, met with the former Chelsea Football Club coach and England coach, Thomas Tuchel, in London. Saturday, 12th July, 2025.”
