2023: Three governorship candidates defect to ADP; endorse Sha’aban Sharada

As the political atmosphere in Kano is changing by the day and with less than 21 days before the conduct of governorship elections across the country, three governorship candidates in Kano have dropped their ambitions and joined forces with the ADP governorship candidate, Honourable Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada.

SOLACEBASE reports that the 2023 Kano Governorship candidates who shelved their ambition and endorsed  Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada for the March 11 Governorship elections are Furera Ahmad of the Booth Party (BP), Ashatu Mahmud of the National Reformation Party (NRM), and Ibrahim Muhammad of the All People’s Party (APP).

A statement issued by Abbas Yushau Yusuf, Spokesperson for the ADP Gubernatorial Campaign Council, on Sunday said , the Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Abdussalam Gwarmai, also withdrew his ambition and joined Sha’aban in his effort to rescue Kano.

‘’Receiving the candidates, the Kano ADP Governorship candidate and a member of the House of Representatives for the Municipal Federal Constituency, Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada welcomed the three gubernatorial candidates in their effort to join forces with him to rescue Kano, ‘’the statement said.

‘’He told the defectors that the moment he is sworn in as governor of Kano State, after winning the governorship election, he would hit the ground running by going about civil service work and reform through reward and punishment.

‘’Sharada announced that he would inaugurate a digital platform for empowerment where 50 thousand people are to be empowered in Kano next week.’’

The ADP Governorship candidate also challenged Ganduje’s administration to explain to the people of Kano what his government did with the bailout funds of President Muhammad Buhari’s administration.

In their separate remarks, the governorship candidates who defected to the ADP—Aishatu Mahmud of the National Reformation Party (NRP) and Furera Ahmad of the Booth Party—said they decided to forego their ambitions and support Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada because he has programs for women and orphans with his good intentions, as did Ibrahim Muhammad of the All People’s Party.
