2027: Peter Obi visits Shekarau in Abuja

The Labour Party Presidential Candidate in the 2023 general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, has paid a personal visit to former Kano State Governor, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, at his residence in Abuja.

Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, a two-term governor of Kano State, and former education minister, was also a presidential candidate in the 2011 general elections under the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and also a leading figure and the chairman of the League of Northern Democrats (LND).

SolaceBase reports that during the meeting, the two leaders reportedly engaged in a discussion centred on issues of national development.

Although details of their conversation were not disclosed, the visit is seen as part of ongoing efforts by stakeholders to chart a course toward a more united and progressive Nigeria.

Mr. Obi has continued to engage political figures and opinion leaders across the country since the conclusion of the last general elections.
