Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, on Sunday, defeated Kano Pillars FC 2-1 in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 27, held at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the match was the first home game played by the club in Ibadan after their temporary relocation to Abeokuta by the NPFL management over poor pitch conditions.
It would be recalled that NPFL had on Jan. 30 directed the Shooting Stars Sports Club to temporarily move their home matches to either MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta or Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos, over the poor state of the pitch at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.

The NPFL emphasised that the move became necessary to maintain the integrity of the league, ensure quality match presentation, and protect the welfare of players, officials and broadcasters.
During the match, the team secured maximum points to extend their home win streak with a hard-fought win over Kano Pillars FC.
Shooting Stars broke the deadlock in the 30th minute when a corner by Ayobami Junior was connected by Sodiq Ibrahim, who slotted it into the net, sparking jubilation by the home fans.
The 3SC Coach, Nurudeen Aweroro, brought Qamar Adegoke on in the 59th minute for Lucky Emmanuel to boost the team’s attacking force.
The substitution later paid off when Qamar Adegoke doubled the lead for Oluyole warriors in the 62nd minute to give the home side a comfortable lead.
The visitors, Kano Pillars, however, through Mustafa Jubril, struck in the 79th minute, reducing the deficit, which led to a tense contest till the final whistle.
NAN reports that Shooting Stars currently stands 7th position on the league table with 41 points from 27 matches. (NAN)
