Four FUD lecturers listed among 2% of world scientists

The Federal University Dutse (FUD) in Jigawa State has reached a noteworthy milestone in academic excellence, with four of its researchers being recognized among the top 2 percent of scientists globally for 2025.

This, according to the latest global ranking published by Top Scientists Network (TopSciNet).

A statement issued by FUD Director of Public Affairs, Malam Abdullahi Bello on Monday said this annual ranking assesses scientists based on their research impact, citation frequencies, and overall productivity, placing them in the top 2% within their respective fields.

‘’The United States of America’s Stanford University 2 percent Scientists list is compiled by Professor John P.A.Leonidis and his team, ‘’the statement said.

‘’The current list highlights the growing influence of FUD scholars within the international research community.

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Dutse, Prof. Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed, commended the scholars for their exceptional achievements.

He noted that this acknowledgement underscores the University’s dedication to impactful research and innovation. Furthermore, he emphasised that their accomplishments not only enhance the institution’s reputation on a global scale but also serve as an inspiration for emerging academics throughout Nigeria.

The VC said FUD’s inclusion in this prestigious list reinforces the University’s growing stature as a hub for pioneering research in West Africa, adding that this recognition further solidifies FUD’s commitment to academic excellence and its mission to conduct research that addresses both national and global challenges.
