5 Killed, 10 Injured as suspected bomb explodes in Kano
A devastating explosion occurred at a company located at Eastern Bypass in Kano State, resulting in the deaths of five people and 10 injured.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning when a military mortar bomb, suspected to be on a truck carrying carbine, exploded.
The Kano Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, confirmed the incident and stated that the case is still under investigation.
According to him, the vehicle involved in the incident came from Yobe State, without much detail.
“Preliminary findings suggest the explosive material was being transported by a trailer coming from Yobe, but it remains unclear whether the vehicle was carrying military personnel or civilians,” he added.

The police commissioner noted that authorities were yet to confirm the exact cause of the explosion or the ownership of the explosives.

”Security agencies are currently investigating the incident. The facts will be clearer once the investigation is completed,” he stated while urging the public to remain calm.
The injured individuals were rushed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), where five were confirmed dead, and 10 are receiving treatment.
The Commissioner could not confirm whether any personnel were among those affected, saying that the investigation would reveal more facts about the incident.
CP Bakori assured that the police would conduct a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the explosion.
He urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities as they work to unravel the cause of the incident.
