Barely two days to the general elections, a coalition of six senatorial candidates have stepped down for the All-Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate, for Kano North, Senator Barau Jibrin.
SOLACEBASE reports that the candidates are of political parties that include, PRP, ZLP, NRM, APM, AAC and ADP on Thursday at a news conference said they so much have confidence in the candidature of Barau Jibrin.
Speaking on behalf of others, ZLP Senatorial Candidate for Kano North, Sunusi Ahmed Baffa, said they have resolved unanimously to support Barau Jibrin.
‘’My dear compatriots this decision is the result of a series of consultations among us and our supporters, including our elders and leaders. We have considered several factors in our meetings, ‘’said Baffa.
‘’It is the aspiration of each one of us to facilitate the development of our area in physical human resources. It is our hope to build and nurture a virile society capable of overcoming challenges, progressing and competing with any other region. Furthermore, the present political, social and economic challenges of the country are issues that demand a balanced honest and purposeful effective approach. Political wrangling, thuggery, and animosity are not the right approach to salvaging our people from their predicament. Selfishness, greed and Rancour are also detrimental to the achievement of our collective communal goals.’’

‘’In consideration of the indicated facts, our collective and individual manifestos, programs of action and aims we decided to assess Distinguished, Senator Barau Jibrin ‘’
‘’It is a glaring fact that he has measured to very high marks on those issues. He has represented our senatorial district in a manner that makes every correct-thinking politician proud of him. He is accessible, respects people obey the law, keeps high moral standards and maintains an excellent character. Reserve, simple, hardworking, patient, intelligent and highly productive. His colleagues in the Senate, his political associates and rivals alike are all living witnesses to his successes.’’
Baffa said in a true sense, Barau Jibrin has performed exceptionally as a Senator and there is a need for continuity so as to develop the zone.
‘’We, therefore, wish to collectively support him and we call on all our supporters and people of goodwill who have the progress of our district, our state and the nation to vote for Distinguish Senator Barau Jibrin.’’
Baffa added that those senatorial candidates who willingly withdrew from the race for Barau are PRP, Aliyu Idris Zakarai, ZLP, Sunusi Ahmed Baffa, NRM, Shehu Nuhu Abdullahi, APM, Muhammad Shuaibu, AAC, Ashiru Ahmad and ADP, AbdulKarim Isa Jarma.
