A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday ordered the federal government to pay a journalist Jones Abiri N10 million for damages.
Justice Nnamdi Dimgba on Thursday found the government wanting over violation of human rights of the journalist.
He said the government was wrong to have detained the journalist after taking his statement in 2016 without arraignment .
Jones Abiri who was in detention for two years was arrested in August 2016 and detained for two years till his lawyers filed a fundamental suit against the Federal government.
