Abdullahi Fagge, SAN lauds Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi’s transformational health interventions
Member representing Bichi Federal constituency from Kano and Chairman House Committee on Appropriation. Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi is a man I have come to know as compassionate, selfless, and deeply committed to the well-being of his people.
His leadership has never been about titles or recognition, but about touching lives in practical and lasting ways. Every project he has facilitated is proof that when a leader carries a genuine concern for his people, progress is inevitable.
Landmark Projects at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), courtesy of the amiable lawmaker, include:

Other Major Interventions Across Kano:

- Muhammadu Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital – Procurement of Basic Speciality Equipment worth ₦3.0 billion.
These projects are not abstract achievements; they translate directly into stability and security for families. That means mothers will no longer entertain fear of losing a child to a power outage during surgery, a patient with a stroke can now easily access timely care that changes the course of a lifetime, and cancer screening is now within reach in our own region.
Impact Beyond Healthcare
For the youths of Kano and beyond, these facilities are not just healthcare infrastructure—they are pathways of inspiration and opportunity. PET Scan machines, Cath Labs, and training centres in their own city allow young people to imagine careers as health professionals, biomedical engineers, lab technicians, or administrators. Such projects create jobs, instil pride, and channel energy into constructive careers.

Investment in health is therefore investment in social stability—healthier families, meaningful employment, and stronger communities.
A Model of Leadership
This is a one-of-a-kind achievement.
Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi has delivered truly one-of-a-kind projects, not because he bears a party label, but because of the scale, his focus on saving lives, and their tangible benefits across education, power, and clinical care. This is the kind of leadership citizens should be encouraged to recognise during campaigns: concrete projects already completed and serving the people, not promises of what might happen in the future.
These achievements are not for Kano alone, but for every Nigerian who comes into Kano to seek treatment, study, or build a career in health. What Hon. Bichi has delivered is far more than bricks and mortar; it is hope for families and relief for patients.
I commend Hon. Bichi for his vision and commitment to improving Healthcare in Kano State. May these achievements serve as a beacon of hope for generations to come.
