ADSI graduates 76 trainees with Start-up kits

The Arewa Development Support Initiative (ADSI) has graduated 76 trainees in different skills acquisition and empowered them with start-up kits.

Kano caretaker chairman of the association, Prof. Aliyu Abdu, said on Saturday that over three million naira was expended on the training.

He said that ADSI is a non-profit organization through which Arewa people can easily share ideas for the development of the region and solve some of the overwhelming problems facing the region using a monthly contribution of a minimum of 2,000 naira to fund skills acquisition to uplift the poor.

 “I urge you to make good use of the training, we will monitor your activities, and of course, we will link you with people that will be giving you contracts in order to boost your businesses, and also we will connect you with banks, where you will secure non-interest loans.”

 “The association’s activities are funded with the monthly contributions of each member, who pays a minimum of 2,000 naira to support skills acquisition and empowerment for the poor. This is a valuable opportunity for you to learn and grow, so please do not take this training and empowerment for granted.”

In a remark, the chairman of the occasion, Malam Jafar Na’aba, said the trainees were trained in different skills such as carpentry, poultry, fish farming, cosmetology, and other areas.

“You are not the first, we have trained over 115 trainees in many areas, we urged you to be good citizens and be part of the ADSI members in order to benefit our region.”

He also thanked the national leadership of the association for giving their tireless support whenever the need arose.

Nasir Umar was one of the trainees who thanked the association for their support, and promised that he would make good use of the training and the kits that were given to him.
