AFCON 25: Burkina Faso thrash Equatorial Guinea

Burkina Faso grabbed a dramatic stoppage-time winner against Equatorial Guinea in a thrilling Group E contest at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco, on Wednesday.

The Stallions scored two late goals against their 10-man opponents, who put up a fierce display in the contest.

The two teams failed to carve any real chance in the first half

Equatorial Guinea were reduced to 10 men five minutes after the break when Basilo Ndung was issued a red card over a dangerous challenge.

Burkina Faso sought to capitalise on their numerical advantage and believed they had taken the lead in the 71st minute when Lassina Traoré found the net. However, after a VAR review, the goal was ruled out.
