After poor performance in 2023 general elections, PDP holds strategic meeting in Kano 

The stakeholders of the People Democratic Party (PDP) from the 44  local government areas of Kano State, held a post-election meeting on Sunday.  

The meeting, which was held to reflect on the performance of the party and strategise towards attracting people’s interest to the party, had the presence of 2023 governorship election candidate, Sadiq Aminu Wali and other candidates of the Senate, Federal House of Representatives, and the State Assembly elections.

Wali noted that the potential of the party to be strong again and win elections are enormous and glaring, taking cognizance of the failures of governing parties at state and national levels.

He appreciated the members’ patience, tolerance and perseverance, as he implored them to embark on an aggressive mobilisation programme. He also made a promise to embark on a local visit to receive decamped members into the party.

“The party is ready to participate in the forthcoming local government election in the state provided the state electoral body creates fair level ground,” he said.

In his remarks, the Director General of the Wali campaign organisation Alhaji Aminu Labaran Baba, said the focus is to put in place strong leadership at all  levels that would win the confidence of all members and attract others.

Also, the party’s Dawakin Tofa state assembly candidate,  Hajiya Lubasatu Ibrahim Tunfafi, advised elders to choose leaders based on merit, especially youth for the progress of the party.
