AKTH denies allegation of misconduct against its staff in Berekete Family programme

The Management of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) has strongly denied recent allegations of misconduct levelled against some of its doctors through Berekete Family Arewa.

A statement issued by the hospital’s Chief Information Officer, Maryam Aminu Usman on Saturday said based on the medical facility’s initial findings the accusation is categorically false, but the hospital will investigate further with utmost urgency and in accordance with established procedures.

SolaceBase gathered that a woman was on Berekete Family Arewa program last week where she alleged that her womb was removed at AKTH without her consent in 2017.

She alleged that she was admitted at the hospital for delievery of her baby claiming that immediately her husband took her to the hospital , she was seduced after been taken into labour room and she subsequently lost consciousness.

According to her, it was after the 6th day that she came back alive asking for her baby and was told that the baby was brought out dead and later discovered that her womb was removed.

‘’The Hospital has a strict code of conduct for all its healthcare professionals and any action that contradicts these Standards will be addressed promptly and transparently, ‘’the statement said.
