Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) said that the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has reconnected the hospital to the national grid.

This development followed a meeting between the Management of the hospital led by the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe, the Managing Director of KEDCO, Dr. Abubakar Shuaibu Jimeta and the Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.

SolaceBase had reported that KEDCO disconnected the tertiary hospital over conflicting outstanding bill of over N949m though AKTH said it owed N880m.

A statement issued by AKTH Head of Information Unit, Hauwa Inuwa-Dutse, on Monday said KEDCO  Managing Director immediately after the meeting directed the DisCo’s engineers to reconnect electricity to the hospital.

“The  Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) wishes to inform the general public that the matter has been resolved amicably in collaboration with the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) and the Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori,” the statement said.
