Alert: Olamide speaks about quitting music
Nigerian singer and rapper, Olamide has spoken up about his future in the music industry.
The prominent record label owner who has established himself as one of the most enduring hip-hop artists in Nigeria’s music industry, recently dropped an EP, titled Ikigai, has achieved remarkable success.

Olamide opened up about his new album and the inspiration behind it after taking a nearly four-year break from music.
Talking to Too Xclusive, he revealed that he nearly walked away from music to concentrate more on songwriting.

Nevertheless, after considerable reflection and self-examination, he came to the conclusion that he could not cease creating music, as he felt that his life would lack meaning without it.
Olamide further explained the rationale behind naming his latest project Ikigai, a term derived from Japanese that signifies living a life of purpose.
His last album before Ikigai was Carpe Diem, which dropped in 2020.
