All loopholes experienced in 2019 general elections have been addressed – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed that the commission had successfully addressed all loopholes experienced in 2019 general elections.

This was disclosed by Kano State INEC Spokesperson, Maulud Ahmed at the Arewa Radio Town hall meeting tagged ‘INA MAFITA’.

This was contained in a communiques issued at the end of the program by Abdulrahman Balarabe Isa, on Thursday.

The communique said  the commission’s new technology will give no room for ballot snatching and other common election malpractices, as results will be collated electronically, which has been proven to be effective in Osun and Ekiti States election.

‘’Similarly, founder of League for Societal Protection Against Drug Abuse (LESPADA), Ambassador Maryam Hassan while presenting a paper during the town hall meeting stated that to stop political thuggery,  there is a need for a legislation that will be geared towards banning political thuggery, identify stiff punishment for politicians that engage the youth in such acts and encourage a more meaningful participation of the youth in politics and governance,’’ the communique said.

‘’She further advised that to end the scourge, parents must start taking full responsibility for their children as well as giving them the required protection against all sorts of exploitations.’’

SOLACEBASE reports that “Ina Mafita”, is an annual town hall meeting organized by Arewa Radio to discuss and proffer solutions to issues threatening the socioeconomic and political development of the state and by extension the whole country.

It features renowned speakers from a wide range of disciplines, in relation to the topic at hand.

The town hall meeting was graced by academia, societal analysts and the Ulamas among others.
