Another Nigerian pilgrim dies in Saudi Arabia

Another Nigerian pilgrim, Dr Abdulrahaman Gona, has died in Saudia Arabia.

Solacebase had reported the death of a Nigerian pilgrim after the Arafat day from Kaduna State.

The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Board announced the death of Dr Abdulrahaman Gona, a lecturer at the state university, on Thursday in the Holy land.

He was one of the recently constituted board members by Governor Inuwa Yahaya to airlift pilgrims to the holy land.

A statement issued by the board’s head of media, Hauwa Muhammad, on behalf of the executive secretary Sa’adu Adamu, regretted the demise of the pilgrim.

The statement revealed that the deceased died after a brief ailment, and would be buried based on Islamic tenets.

It partly read, “The death of Alhaji Dr Abdulrahaman Umar Mai Gona has occurred today in Saudi after a brief illness. Gona was a newly appointed Board Member, Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, by the Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

“He was also a lecturer in the Department of Islamic Studies, Gombe State University. The Board is on its feet in ensuring his timely burial as stipulated in Islam. May his soul rest in peace.”
