Anti-Party: APC expels ex-gov of Gombe, Danjuma Goje

The Kashere ward of the All Progressives Congress in Gombe State has expelled former Governor Danjuma Goje over alleged anti-party activities.

SOLACEBASE reports that Goje is a serving senator representing Gombe Central and Senator-elect under the platform of the APC.

It was gathered that Goje was expected to face a five-man committee on an investigation into his alleged anti-party activities with a two-week timeframe for the committee to complete its report.

Others also investigated and later expelled in the state include: Member representing Yalmatu Deba Federal Constituency, Yunusa Abubakar, and a senator representing Gombe South, Bulus Amos.

Announcing the resolution of the ward on Tuesday, the Chairman Tanimu Abdullahi said the decision followed  the various petitions on alleged anti-party activities against Goje, which had not been favourably answered.

“Failure to attend the Tinubu-Shettima presidential rally in Gombe which was attended by the President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima

“Failure to attend all APC campaign rallies and tours in Gombe, including the one in his own Gombe Central senatorial zone, Akko federal constituency, state assembly and ward unit.”

The Chairman noted the activities that were in breach of Article 21, Section A, subsection ii, iii, vi and vii of the APC constitution, saying that, “Senator Muhammadu Goje is no longer a member of the APC in Kashere ward, and by extension, in Gombe State and Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, in an exparte injunction instituted at the Federal High Court Abuja, dated April 17, 2023, against Kashere ward chairman Abdullahi and the APC, Goje urged the court to direct the respondents to stay all actions in the suit “pending the hearing and determination of the originating motion on notice.”
