APC clears Gov. Yusuf for second term bid in 2027 election

The All Progressives Congress has cleared Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, to contest for a second term in office in the 2027 governorship election.

This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Friday.

SolaceBase reports that the clearance followed the successful screening of Governor Yusuf by the National Working Committee of the APC after submitting his nomination and screening forms.

The National Chairman of the party, Prof. Nantawe Yilwada, who led the screening committee at Plateau Governor’s lodge, said party confirmed that Governor Yusuf satisfied all requirements to contest for a second term.

PROMISES-DELIVERED

Following the screening exercise, he was declared, so far as the sole contender for the APC governorship ticket in Kano State ahead of the 2027 election.

Speaking shortly after the exercise, Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the leadership of the party for the confidence reposed in him.

He reaffirmed his commitment to delivering more dividends of democracy and sustaining policies that promote peace, economic growth and inclusive development across Kano State.

 

The governor also called on party members and supporters to remain united and continue working together for the progress of the state and victory in 2027.
