APC youth coalition commends Tinubu, Barau over Kano polytechnic upgrade to university

The Coalition of APC Progressive Youths has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, for the conversion of Federal Polytechnic Kabo to Federal University of Science and Technology, Kabo, through a bill sponsored by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin.

This was contained in a statement issued by the group’s president, Sadiq Ali Sango, and made available to newsmen in Kano.

According to Sango, “This demonstrates the President’s unwavering commitment to expanding access to higher education and accelerating national development by equipping our growing youth population with essential skills.”

He emphasised that the transition from polytechnic to a university of science and technology aligns with global best practices and is a bold step towards building a knowledge-based economy.

Sango further highlighted the importance of human capital development, especially in science, technology, and innovation, noting that “Across the globe, disciplines in ICT and science such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and cybersecurity are taking centre stage. It is through institutions like this that we can equip our youths with the skills needed to thrive in these critical fields.”

The group congratulated the good people of Kano state, the management, staff, students, and surrounding communities of the Federal Polytechnic Kabo on the development and encouraged them to uphold high academic standards as they transition into a full-fledged university.

The new Federal University of Science and Technology, Kabo, is expected to play a key role in advancing scientific education and innovation in northern Nigeria and beyond.
