ASSOMEG congratulates new NUJ President

The Association of Online Media Guild (ASSOMEG) has congratulated Comrade Alhasan Yahaya on his election as the new President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

The congratulatory message was jointly signed by the interim chairman of ASSOMEG, Abdullateef Abubakar Jos, and interim Secretary, Abbas Yushau Yusuf, respectively in Kano, on Thursday

SolaceBase had reported that Alhasan Yahaya emerged as the new NUJ president after defeating Dele Atunbi and Mohammed Garba at the 8th Triennial Delegates Conference of NUJ held in Owerri, the Imo State capital, in the early hours of Thursday.

ASSOMEG in the message praised Yahaya’s dynamism and efforts as a reformist, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the NUJ effectively.

“We congratulate Alhasan Yahaya on his election as the new NUJ President. His dynamism and effort as a reformist are commendable,” the statement read.

The association highlighted Yahaya’s commitment to advancing the journalism profession in Nigeria and his dedication to upholding the principles of integrity and professionalism. “We believe that under your leadership, the NUJ will continue to thrive and address the challenges facing journalists in the country,” It stated.

ASSOMEG also reaffirmed its support for Yahaya and the NUJ, pledging to collaborate with the union to promote the interests of journalists and enhance the media landscape in Nigeria. “We look forward to working closely with the NUJ under Yahaya’s leadership to achieve our common goals,” the statement concluded.
