Barau FC Coach Agbabe apologizes to journalist over verbal assault

Barau FC, head coach Eugene Agbabe, on Saturday apologized to Freedom Radio reporter Aminu Halilu Tudun Wada over verbal abuse and nearly physical assault  to him after the NPFL match against Kun Khalifat FC.

SolaceBase had reported that the Chief Coach of Barau Football Club, Eugene Agagbe, allegedly verbally assaulted Freedom radio reporter, Aminu Halilu Tudun Wada, at Sani Abacha Stadium.

The ugly incident occurred last Saturday during the post-match press conference of the NPFL Match Day 26 clash between Barau FC and Kum Khalifa FC.

The apology followed a reconciliation meeting organized by SWAN, Kano State chapter.

Agbabe admitted wrongdoing and promised it would not happen again.

In his remarks at the meeting, Barau FC’s GM, Dominic Iorfa, promised to work harmoniously with SWAN and other journalists in Kano and also appointed Tudun Wada as the coach’s special assistant on media, citing qualifications and to strengthen club-media relations.

The meeting was attended by journalists, SWAN officials, and Barau FC representatives at the Sani Abacha Stadium Mix Zone.
