Baze university confers posthumous honorary degree on late AVM Mukhtar Muhammad

A prestigious private university in Nigeria, Baze University Abuja, has recognized the invaluable contributions of the late AVM Mukhtar Muhammad, former Wazirin Dutse, with a posthumous honorary degree.

The Late Air Vice Marshall Mukhtar Muhammed (rtd), former Military Governor of old Kaduna State and a member of the Supreme Military Council from 1984-85 during the Buhari Military Administration, died in October 2017 at the age of 73.

Mukhtar Muhammed, who was the Wazirin Dutse in Dutse Emirate of Jigawa State, was a deputy chairman, Board of Trustees of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), and a delegate to the National Conference in 2014.

Obviously fired by his genuine passion for Northern Nigeria, he invested in the establishment and became the Chairman, Board of Directors of Freedom Radio, the first private FM station in Kano.

SolaceBase reports that the university announced the posthumous honorary degree at its 11th convocation held in Abuja, on Saturday.

The ceremony, attended by prominent figures including the Emir of Dutse Dr Hamim Nuhu Sunusi,Peter Obi,and representatives of many Governors, celebrated late AVM Mukhtar Muhammad’s legacy as a champion of national growth.

The university said the honor cements his place in Nigeria’s history as a visionary leader and selfless patriot.”
