BREAKING: Namadi wins Jigawa governorship election

The INEC has declared  the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate  in Jigawa State,  Umar Namadi, as winner of the governorship election in the state.

Namadi, who is presently the state deputy governor won in 26 of the 27 local government areas in Jigawa with a total of 618,449 votes.

Meanwhile, his closest rival, Mustapha Lamido of the People Democratic Party (PDP), won in his hometown, Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.

The State Collation Officer, Prof. Muhammad Zayyanu Umar announced this on Sunday, in Dutse , the state capital.

Prof. Umar who is also the Vice Chancellor, Federal University Birnin Kebbi said the candidate of the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) Aminu Ibrahim, came a distant third with 37,156.
