Buhari extends tenure of Nigeria Immigration Service CG
President Muhammadu Buhari has granted a tenure extension of one year to the acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Idris Isah Jere.
Solacebase recalls that Idris Isah Jere was appointed acting CG of Nigeria Immigration Service in September, 2021 after the retirement of the then CG, Muhammad Babandede.
Idris Isah Jere, was then a Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Finance and Account.

In a letter titled RE: APPOINTMENT OF A NEW COMPTROLLER-GENERAL FOR THE NIGERIAN IMMIGRATION SERVICE (NIS) dated 22 April, 2022, the chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari announced the extension of tenure of the CG.
The letter sighted by Solacebase and addressed to the Honorable Minister of Interior, said the tenure extension of the acting Comptroller General takes effect from 24th of April, 2022.
The letter said this was sequel to a correspondence from the minister dated 15th March, 2022.
