Buhari gives reason for his absence at President Tinubu’s mother Qur’anic recitation competition

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a message to the Convener of the Mother of President Tinubu Qur’anic Recitation Competition, Senator Basheer Lado, explaining why he would not attend the Grand Finale of the competition scheduled for today, Saturday, holding in Kano.

In a Letter signed by  Ambassador Lawal Abdullahi Kazaure, dated 25th May 2025, titled, “Office of Muhammadu Buhari, Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Re: Invitation As Special Guest of Honour To Quranic Recitation Competition in Honour of Late Hajiya Abibatu M. Tinubu”, Buhari regretted missing attending the epic Islamic rituals.

Kazaure, said, “I’m directed to refer to your letter reference SAP/NASS/SEN/178, dated 12th dated 12th April 2025 and 12 May 2025 respectively regarding the Aforementioned subject, I regret to inform you that Former President Muhammadu Buhari is unable to attend the event as previously agreed due to his scheduled Medical check-up abroad.

Ambassador Lawal Abdullahi Kazaure explained that,” in this regard, he extends his best wishes for a successful event and conveys his regards to His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the entire Tinubu’s Family.

PROMISES-DELIVERED

Former President Buhari in the letter prayed that the soul of Hajiya Abibatu will continue to rest in Jannatul Firdausi, asking the organizer Senator Basheer Lado, CON to extend his best wishes to President Tinubu.
