President Muhammad Buhari will inaugurate the Multi-billion naira Kano Cancer treatment center before the end of October, 2022.
The State Commissioner for health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa who made the disclosure on Sunday revealed that the World Class treatment center under construction by Governor Abdullah Umar Ganduje’s government is already near completion.
The health commissioner spoke while addressing journalists ahead of the state’s maiden Health Week celebration scheduled to commence tomorrow, Monday.
Dr. Tsanyawa disclosed that the week-long event is intended to showcase the achievement of the present administration towards strengthening quality health care delivery in Kano.
He reminded that besides series of events outline to commemorate the health week, the occasion would equally afford the opportunity to take stock of challenges and efforts to mend bottlenecks.

Reacting on challenges bedeviling the implementation of Basic Health Care Provision Fund in Kano, the commissioner affirmed the present issues burden full deployment of the scheme.
He however noted that the two agencies, state primary health care agency and the state contributory health insurance scheme, handling the implementation of the fund are working hard to rectify the challenges.
Part of activities outlined for the health week include distribution of letter of appointment for the newly recruited health workers, commissioning of upgraded Rano General hospital, conduct of medical outreach at Rano emirate and commission of 2022 World Breast Feeding Week.
Other series of events are distribution of free maternity commodities, launching of Rota Vaccine, launching of World Patients Safety Day, commissioning of 30 selected primary health centres renovated by saving one million lives among other activities.
