The body of former President Muhammadu Buhari has departed London at approximately 8:00 AM on Tuesday.

SolaceBase correspondent reports that this was made known by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, during an interview with newsmen in Daura, ahead of the late president’s burial scheduled for later in the day.

“The body of the former president left London early this morning. We are expecting it to arrive in Katsina by noon,” Shehu stated.

SolaceBase had reported that President Bola Tinubu is expected to personally receive the former President’s body at the Katsina International Airport. This was disclosed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a press briefing on Monday in Abuja.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, will personally receive the remains of the former President in Katsina. Upon arrival, a brief military ceremony will be held at the airport before the body is moved to Daura,” Idris stated.

Preparations are in full swing in Daura, where Buhari will be laid to rest according to Islamic rites at his family residence.
