The 14″ Governing Council of Bayero University Kano has approved the appointment of Malam Rabi’u Dauda and Dr Kabiru Dahiru Abbas as substantive Bursar and Librarian respectively.
SOLACEBASE reports that in a letter signed by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Council, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, conveying the approval said the appointment is for a period of five years with effect from Friday, 5″ May 2023.

A statement issued by the university Director, Public Affairs, Lamara Garba, on Friday, said the new Bursar, who until his appointment was a Deputy Bursar in the University, was born on 20 November, 1964 in Lokoja, Kogi State.
‘’He joined the services of Bayero University in 2007 as a Principal Accountant and rose through the ranks. He has Master’s Degree in Banking and Finance, and B. Sc Accounting.’’
Malam Rabiu Dauda is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, (ICAN) an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and a registered member of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.
The new Librarian, Dr Kabiru Dahiru Abbas was born on 15 October 1980 at Maigari village of Rimin Gado LGA in Kano state. Until his appointment, he is a senior lecturer with the Department of Library and Information Sciences of the university.

He has PhD in Information Studies from KwaZulu Natal University, South Africa in 2016, Masters in Information Sciences and Bachelor’s degree Information Science/Political Science in 2011 and 2007 respectively from Bayero University, Kano.
Also at its 7th meeting, the Governing Council approved the appointment of Hajia Amina Umar Abdullahi as Acting Registrar of the University for three months.
In a letter signed by the Vice Chancellor Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas conveying the appointment said it is with effect from Monday, 8 May 2023.
The Acting Registrar was born in Kano on 25″ July 1964, holds M.A Hausa and BA Combined honours in 2002 and 1987.
Hajiya Amina Abdullahi joined the services of the university on 1″ September, 1999 as a Senior Assistant Registrar and rose through the ranks, she worked in various Directorates of the university.
Before joining the services of Bayero University, Hajiya Amina was NTA Newscaster/Reporter from Katsina. She also worked briefly with the then Kano City Television-CTV.
Until her appointment she was the Director Examinations, Admissions and Records,-DEAR- of the University.
