2024: BUK extends students registration period amid nationwide protests

The management of Bayero University, Kano has announced a two-week extension for the registration of undergraduate students for the 2023/2024 academic session.

SolaceBase reports that the decision, effective from Sunday, August 4, 2024, comes in response to recent nationwide protests that have disrupted free movement and led to significant connectivity issues across the country.

The extension aims to accommodate students who have faced challenges in completing their registration due to these disruptions. 

According to Lamara Garba, BUK Deputy Registrar, Public Affairs, the university management also cited ongoing efforts to reconcile remittances from the National Students’ Loans Fund for students who have secured loans as a factor in the decision to extend the registration period.

“With the new deadline set for Sunday, August 19, 2024, the university urges all undergraduate students to ensure they finalize their registration within this extended timeframe.”
