Catch them young – ENGAUSA CEO calls for early talent development
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ENGAUSA Global Tech Hub, Engr. Mustapha Habu Ringim, has stressed the need for early talent development, saying Nigeria must invest in young minds to drive innovation and economic growth.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of Abu Hanifa Academy, Ringim highlighted the role of early exposure to technology and skill-building, drawing inspiration from global models.
“In developed countries like those in Europe and China, talent discovery starts at an early age, which is why their youth grow up to invent and manufacture the technologies we use today in Africa,” he said.
SolaceBase reports that the event, held to celebrate the achievements of outstanding students, saw Ringim expressing pride in the graduates, particularly those who emerged from the Engausa “Catch Them Young” program, which provides hands-on learning during school holidays.

“Eighty percent of the most creative and innovative students here today are products of the Catch Them Young program,” he revealed, emphasizing the importance of structured mentorship in unlocking hidden potentials.

He urged stakeholders to adopt similar strategies in shaping the next generation of Nigerian innovators, entrepreneurs, and problem-solvers who could help tackle challenges like insecurity, poverty, and unemployment.

The ENGAUSA CEO concluded his address with prayers for the graduates, hoping they would serve as role models and key players in the country’s growing tech ecosystem.
