Chinese national stabs lady to death in Kano

A Chinese national, Geng Quanrong, on Friday, allegedly stabbed a lady, Ummukulsum to death in Kano.

Solacebase gathered that the incident occurred on Friday night at Janbulo Quarters in Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State.

Confirming the incident, Kano Command Police Spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the suspect, Geng, 47, allegedly stabbed the lady to death on Friday night around 9.30pm.

Narrating how the incident occurred, the bereaved mother said, “She was my daughter; he (the Chinese man) always comes around wanting to see her and she has been refusing. This time around when he came, he kept knocking on the door. When I was fed up of him hitting the door loudly, I opened the door and he pushed me aside and got in and started stabbing her with a knife.

“I started shouting and people came running. We rushed her to the hospital but before we arrived, she was dead. It happened around 9.30pm. We were at home with her two younger sisters when it happened. Her brother was out and her father is dead. It was raining then, people were indoors and couldn’t hear me shouting until when someone came and tried going in through the window.

The suspect alleged that the deceased who was his girl friend deceived him after promising to marry him while he has spent a lot of money on her.

According to the suspect, he was sad as a result of been deceived by his late girl friend which led to the act he committed at the residence of the deceased.

Abdullahi Kiyawa said immediately the Police were alerted of the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Lawan, directed the DPO, Dorayi Babba, to take charge of the situation.

He noted that already the suspect has been transferred to the state headquarters at Bompai for further investigation and prosecution.

Sources told Solacebase that the deceased was buried on Saturday morning, in Kano.
