PANACEA charity foundation is to plant 10,000 trees across Kano state so as to mitigate climate change impact on the environment.
The promoter of the Foundation, Dr Dahir Muhammad Hashim stated this on Thursday at the flag-off of the tree planting campaign held at Kurna Asabe, Gobarawa ward, Dala local government area, a community mostly ravaged by flooding.
Dr Dahir Muhammad Hashim said tree planting project is in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Environment and Kano State Ministry of Environment.
He said the seedlings are of various tree species that provide food, herbal medicine and help immensely in Carbon sequestration.

‘’This project is also in conformity with the targets and indicators of SDGs; Zero Hunger and Sustainable Cities and Communities, ‘’said Dr. Hashim.
‘’ I am appealing to the residents to protect the trees so that the initiative would not be a wasted effort and would improve our environment .’’

In a remark, Chief Imam, Kurna Asabe Juma’at Mosque, Mal. Isa Ibrahim Arzai appreciated the foundation for embarking on the tree planting initiative, urging other NGOs to emulate.
