Colleagues celebrate elevation of Balogun Alanamu, Usman Jos, 3 others to professorial, associate prof. cadre
Academic members of the Faculty of Physical Sciences, University of Ilorin on Tuesday celebrated some of their colleagues elevated to Professorial and Associate Professor cadre.
Those promoted are from the Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics departments.
They are Prof. Gbonjubola Victoria Awolola – Professor of Industrial Chemistry, Dr Olaniyi Kamil Yusuff, – Associate Professor (Reader), Chemistry. , Dr Taofeek Olanrewaju Lawal – Associate Professor (Reader), Physics and Dr Usman Abubakar Jos, – Associate Professor (Reader), Mathematics.
Recall that the Senate of the University of Ilorin approved the elevation in January 2025 with effect from October 2024.
SolaceBase reports that Dr Usman Abubakar Jos is the 12th Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin Emirate and was turbaned in May 2022.
Speaking at a reception organised by the faculty of Physical Sciences, the dean, Prof. Baba Alafara congratulated those elevated.
Alafara urged them to take their promotion as a call to do more and contribute to the body of knowledge.
The celebrants appreciated the honour by the faculty promising not to betray the confidence reposed on them.
