Compensate victims’ families, punish killers – NBA Kano to Edo Govt

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Kano branch has condemned the brutal killing of 16 Kano indigenes in Edo State, calling for justice and accountability from the authorities.

This was disclosed in a statement by the chairman NBA Kano branch, Usman Umar Fari, on Monday, who described the incident as “a heinous act that must not go unpunished.”

According to the statement, the victims were traveling back to Kano when operatives of the Edo State Security Corps (ESSC), formerly known as the Edo State Security Network (ESSN), stopped them in Uromi, Esan North Local Government Area, on March 27, 2025.

The security operatives allegedly accused them of being Boko Haram members, subjected them to severe beatings, and set them ablaze.
