Copa America: Uruguay defeat Brazil in quarter final shootout
Uruguay have knocked out Brazil from the Copa America following a 4-2 penalty shootout defeat.
Brazil struggled to create opportunities in the game despite having a man advantage late in the second half when Uruguay’s Nahitan Nandez was sent off.
The game was keenly contested with both teams committing 41 fouls.

With no extra time in Copa America, the game went into a penalty shootout after 90 minutes.

Brazil could only convert two of their spot kicks, while Uruguay scored four.
The victory was Uruguay’s first over Brazil in 13 meetings since 2001.
