Guber Race: Court adjourns Abacha’s suit against PDP, INEC, Sadiq Wali

A Federal High Court sitting in Kano presided over by Justice A.M Liman on Friday adjourned  to 20th October, 2022 for hearing in pre-election suit instituted by Alhaji Muhammad Sani Abacha challenging Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Sadik Aminu Wali and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

SOLACEBASE reports that in an originating summon, Alhaji Muhammad Abacha is praying the court to declare him winner of the primary election conducted by Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in Kano, having satisfied the requirements of the  Electoral Act 2022 (as amended) and scored the highest number of the total votes cast in the election held on 25th May, 2022.

At the Court session on Friday for hearing of the substantive suit, counsel to the Plaintiff, Reuben Atabor (SAN) told the court that, he has filed some processes on behalf of his client, to regularize his position.

In their responses, counsel to the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), Barrister Suleiman Alkali, Sadik Aminu Wali and that of PDP prayed the court for an adjournment to enable them respond to the application by counsel to Abacha, seeking to regularize his processes.
