Court of Appeal sacks Nasarawa speaker

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has sacked the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, a member of the All Progressives Congress in the state.

The speaker was sacked in a judgment delivered on Tuesday by the Court which declared the Peoples Democratic Party PDP candidate, Sa’ad Abdullahi Ibrahim, as the rightful winner of the election of the March 18, 2023 election for the Umaisha/Ugya State Constituency.

It could be recalled that there had been a fierce battle between, the speaker of the state house of assembly, Mr. Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi, who is representing Umaisha Ugya constituency in the state assembly and, Mr Daniel Ogah Ogazi, representing Kokona East constituency respectively over speakership tussle.

The crisis in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly had led to the emergence of two speakers.
