Court orders KANSIEC to accept Dalhatu Usman led NNPP candidates for LG election
A Federal High Court sitting in Kano on Friday ordered KANSIEC to accept as genuine and subsisting, the list of NNPP candidates submitted to it by the recognised State Chairman of the NNPP, Dalhatu Shehu Usman, which is in accordance with the party constitution and rejects any list of candidate submitted to it by anyone else for the 2024 local government election in Kano State.
Also the court presided by Justice Simon Amobeda restrained INEC from releasing voters register to KANSIEC for the conduct of the proposed local government election on October 26, 2024.
SolaceBase reports that the plaintiffs in the suit are NNPP and Engr. Muhammad Babayo while the defendants are INEC, KANSIEC, IGP and Director, Department of State Services.2
It could be recalled that Justice Simon Amobeda on Tuesday sacked the KANSIEC Chairman, Prof. Sani Malunfasi with 5 other members, while also ruling against the conduct of the election.

The court ordered the IGP and Director, Department of State Services to forthwith restrained from proving security and protection to the scene of the election plans to take place on the 26th October , 2024.
