Court Vacates Restraining Order On Ganduje From Constituting Council Of Chiefs
Justice Ahmed Tijjani Badamosi of a Kano High Court on Tuesday vacated order restraining Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from taking over the power of the Kano Emirate Kingmakers.
Solacebase recalled that Justice Ahmed Tijjani Badamosi on December 10 restrained Governor Ganduje from constituting the Kano Council of Chiefs and appointment of members.
At the Court sitting on Tuesday, the Judge said the restraining order only last for seven days.

Counsel to the defendants in the suit, Barr. L. Alozie SAN argued that the old law establishing the new emirates has being jettisoned by the government with a formulation of a new law that was recently passed by the state house of assembly and ratified by the governor. Hence prayed the court to dismiss the suit.
However, the Plaintiffs Counsel, Barr. Nasir Dingiri SAN urged the court not to vacate the order as the defendants did not obey it since it was granted.
The plaintiffs in the suit are Yusuf Nabahani, Madakin Kano, Abdullahi Sarki Ibrahim, Makama Kano, Bello Abubakar,Sarkin Dawakin Mai Tuta and Muktar Adnan, Sarki Ban Kano.
While the defendants in the suit are Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Kano State House of Assembly, Attorney-General of Kano, Tafida Abubakar Ila, Ibrahim Abdulqadir Gaya, Ibrahim Abubakar II and Aminu Ado Bayero
The judge then adjourned the matter to January 20, 2020.
