CS-CRIN emphasizes collaboration among CSOs, media, other stakeholders to achieve sustainable development in Kano

The Civil Society Organisation for Conflict Resolution in Nigeria (CS-CRIN) has emphasized the importance of collaboration among Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), media, and other stakeholders in achieving sustainable development and conflict resolution in Kano State.

Mr. Adeniyi Aremu, the Executive Director of CS-CRIN, stated this in Kano, on Friday, at a Community Visibility Meeting with CSOs and the Media aimed at enhancing community visibility and empowering local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).

SOLACEBASE reports that the event was titled “Building and Strengthening Organizational Capacity through Hands-on Coaching and Mentoring OD Capacity Development Support for 3 CSOs in Kano State.

At the meeting, CS-CRIN shared insights into its ongoing project, which involves hands-on coaching and mentoring to enhance the organizational development (OD) and capacity of three selected CSOs in Kano State.

Adeniyi said the project funded by the European Union’s Agents for Citizen-driven Transformation (ACT) program in Nigeria and implemented by the British Council, seeks to bolster the operational capabilities of three selected CSOs in Kano State. By providing hands-on coaching, mentoring, and capacity development support, CS-CRIN aims to empower these organizations to better address the pressing issues within their communities.

He stated, “Our goal is to create a resilient and empowered civil society that can drive sustainable development, resolve conflicts, and advocate for positive change within the state.”

The Executive Director noted that the media briefing and community visibility meeting served as a platform for stakeholders, CSOs, and the media to engage in a dialogue about the project’s goals and expected outcomes.

‘’It also allowed for discussions on how best to harness the potential of civil society in Kano State to address pressing challenges and contribute to sustainable development, ‘’Adeniyi said.

‘’CS-CRIN remains dedicated to its mission of conflict resolution and sustainable development in Nigeria, and events like these underscore its commitment to empowering local CSOs and fostering positive change in the communities it serves.

Participants and beneficiaries of the capacity building and intervention include the Concerned Mothers Association of Kano, Save a Life Cancer Awareness and Support Network, and Rogo Concerned Citizens among others,

They all expressed commitment to working together towards a stronger, more vibrant civil society in Kano State.
