The Dr. Dahiru Muhammad Hashim Foundation has conducted a free medical outreach in Kurna Asabe (B), Dala Local Government Area of Kano State, reaffirming its commitment to positively impacting society.

Speaking during the outreach on Sunday, the promoter of the Foundation and Kano ACRESAL Project Coordinator, Dr Dahiru Muhammad Hashim, said the outreach was designed to provide free medical consultations, screenings for diabetes, malaria treatment, hypertension, and free medication, especially for those facing economic hardships that prevented them from seeking healthcare.

SolaceBase reports that Dahiru said the program aimed to promote community health by providing access to free medical check-ups and treatments.

“Due to the inflationary situation in the country, many people neglect their medical check-ups. Some individuals are unaware of their health status. Conditions like high blood pressure often go unnoticed. Here, we have more than twenty medical doctors and pharmacists. This outreach will help less privileged families who cannot afford to go to the hospital,” he said.

“We will provide free medical consultations and free medication to over five hundred people in this area,” he added.

“This medical outreach received support from many people, including the Kano State Agency for the Control of AIDS, Novomed Pharmaceuticals, and others.”

While noting that the government cannot address the medical needs of over 200 million Nigerians alone, Dahir called on privileged members of society to reach out to disadvantaged communities to make society more habitable.

Isa Gambo, one of the beneficiaries of the outreach, expressed gratitude to the foundation for offering him free medical services.

“It’s been about seven days since I’ve been suffering from diarrhea. My stomach is bad. I’m always running to the toilet. But now, Alhamdulillah, they’ve given me medicine,” he said.

Aisha Shuaibu, another patient who benefited from the medical outreach, said she was given medicine for malaria.

“It was a fever that was bothering me. Now, these doctors confirmed to me that it is malaria, and they gave me free medicines,” she said.
