The Dala Hard Court Tennis Championship Organising Committee has expressed deep sorrow over the death of athletes, journalists, and officials from Kano State in a tragic accident while returning from the recently concluded National Sports Festival.

This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday by Yusuf Datti, Tournament Director and Board Member of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF).

According to the statement, the devastating incident has not only impacted Kano State but has also resonated deeply throughout the nation.

It described the young athletes and dedicated officials who lost their lives as symbols of hope and ambition for the future of sports in Nigeria.

The Organising Committee expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and friends of the deceased, offering prayers for the eternal rest of the souls lost and for strength to those left behind, especially the sports-loving people of Kano State and the nation at large.

In its concluding message, the Committee called upon the entire sporting community to unite in support of the bereaved families and to honor the memory of those who dedicated their lives to the pursuit of sporting excellence.
