Democracy Day: Tinubu to address Nigerians on Wednesday 

President Bola Tinubu is set to address the nation in a broadcast on the occasion of Democracy Day at 7am on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. 

This was contained in a short statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.  

“Television, radio, and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to plug in to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) for the broadcast,” he said.

Earlier today, the Federal Government declared Wednesday as a public holiday to commemorate this year’s Democracy Day.

PROMISES-DELIVERED

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Interior Ministry, Permanent Secretary, Dr Aishetu Ndayako, on behalf of the Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo congratulated Nigerians on the celebration.

It partly read, “As we mark another Democracy Day in the history of our dear country, let us all reflect on the efforts of our founding fathers and ensure that Nigeria remains a united, secured, peaceful and indivisible entity.”

The statement urged Nigerians to remain steadfast on the tenets of democratic governance.
