EFCC arrests TikToker Murja Kunya over alleged naira abuse

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Kano Zonal Command has arrested popular TikTok personality Murja Ibrahim Kunya over allegations of abusing the Nigerian currency, naira.

SolaceBase gathered that a source within the EFCC confirmed that the arrest took place on Saturday in Kano, adding that an investigation is underway. 

“The investigation is ongoing, and once concluded, she will be charged to court for prosecution,” the source stated. 

Credible sources told SolaceBase that she was initially arrested about three weeks ago but jumped bail prior to her arrest yesterday.

Murja Kunya initially ventured into social media as a hobby before turning it into a profession.

Over time, she gained widespread recognition, particularly on TikTok, where she operates under the account name Yagayagamen. 

Her social media activities have frequently stirred controversy, leading to multiple convictions in Kano State.
