The palace of the 15th Fulani Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has announced the official timetable for the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr (Sallah) celebrations to be held at the Nasarawa Palace in Kano.
According to the schedule released on Thursday, activities will commence on Friday, March 20, with the Eid prayer.
The Emir is expected to depart for the prayer ground at 7:50 a.m., arriving five minutes later, while the congregational prayer will begin at 8:00 a.m.
The session, including the sermon, is expected to conclude by 8:30 a.m., after which the Emir will return to the palace.
At 10:00 a.m., members of the Emirate Council will pay the traditional Sallah homage, during which the Emir will deliver his Eid address.
He is also scheduled to attend the Friday (Jumu’ah) prayer at 1:30 p.m.

Later in the day, district heads (Hakimai) and members of the public will arrive at the palace from 4:30 p.m. to present their Sallah greetings.
The Emir will formally receive them at 4:45 p.m. before retiring to the palace at about 5:45 p.m.
On the second day, Saturday, March 21, district heads will again visit the palace at 10:30 a.m. for Sallah homage.
The Emir will receive them at 11:00 a.m. and withdraw by noon.
Cultural festivities will continue in the evening with a traditional band performance at 4:00 p.m.
The third day, Sunday, March 22, will feature a traditional Dambe boxing display at 4:00 p.m., a popular cultural sport in northern Nigeria.
Activities will conclude on Monday, March 23, with a farewell visit by district heads at 9:00 a.m.
Later in the day, at 4:00 p.m., a cultural session on Hausa literature will be presented by Aminudeen Ladan Abubakar Ala, also known as Dan’amar Kano.
The schedule outlines a blend of religious observances and cultural events, reflecting the rich traditions of the Kano Emirate during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
