Emir Sanusi appoints new Galadima,Wambai, other key traditional appointments in Kano Emirate
The 16th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, has approved a series of key traditional appointments within the Kano Emirate Council, following the recent passing of the Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Abbas Sanusi.
SolaceBase had reported that Galadima Kano, Alhaji Abbas Sunusi is died on 1st April, after a protracted illness.
The Emir appointed Alhaji Munir Sanusi as the new Galadiman Kano, a prestigious title held by the late Abbas Sunusi. Before his elevation, Munir Sanusi served as the Wamban Kano and District Head of Bichi.
The Emir also elevated Alhaji Kabiru Tijjani Hashim to the title of Wambai, while Mahmud Ado Bayero was named Turakin Kano.

Similarly, the Emir appointed his son, Adam Lamido Sanusi, popularly known as Ashraf, as the new Tafidan Kano, while Ahmed Abbas Sanusi, son of the late Galadima, was appointed Yariman Kano.
A palace source confirmed the appointments to SolaceBase on Tuesday, noting that the decisions reflect the Emir’s commitment to continuity, merit, and the preservation of the cultural heritage of the Kano Emirate.
The newly appointed titleholders are expected to play crucial roles in advisory, leadership, and community development efforts across the state.
