The 16^th Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi II, on Friday morning led the funeral prayer for the late renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Kabir Babban Malami Na Madabo, who passed away on Thursday evening after a brief illness.

SolaceBase reports that the respected scholar died at his residence in Madabo, Kano, at the age of 85. He is survived by three wives, 26 children, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral prayer, held at the Emir’s Palace, Kofar Kudu, drew a large crowd of family members, students, Islamic scholars, and members of the public who came to pay their final respects.

Sheikh Kabir Babban Malami was a revered member of the Kano Emirate Council and a leading authority in Islamic jurisprudence.

Over the years, he was celebrated for his deep knowledge of the Qur’an and Hadith, his contributions to Islamic education, and his mentorship of countless scholars across the state.
