PHOTOS: Emir Sanusi leads funeral prayer of late Islamic scholar Kabir Babban Malami

The 16th Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi II, on Friday morning led the funeral prayer for the late renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Kabir Babban Malami Na Madabo, who passed away on Thursday evening after a brief illness.

SolaceBase reports that the respected scholar died at his residence in Madabo, Kano, at the age of 85. He is survived by three wives, 26 children, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral prayer, held at the Emir’s Palace, Kofar Kudu, drew a large crowd of family members, students, Islamic scholars, and members of the public who came to pay their final respects.

Sheikh Kabir Babban Malami was a revered member of the Kano Emirate Council and a leading authority in Islamic jurisprudence.
