Enthuse school, ACF celebrate youth innovation at skills festival in Kano
Enthuse Entrepreneurship Secondary School, in partnership with the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), has hosted its annual Skills Festival to mark World Youth Skills Day.
The event, held on Saturday in Kano, brought together students, parents, and education stakeholders to celebrate innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital creativity among young people.
This year’s festival, themed “Youth Empowerment Through AI and Digital Skills,” showcased a variety of student-led projects designed to solve real-world problems through technology and entrepreneurship.
According to Khalifa Mustafa Dankade, the Founder and Director of Enthuse Entrepreneurship Secondary School, the event is a platform for students to demonstrate the practical knowledge and skills gained through the school’s unique curriculum.
He said “The rationale is actually to create a platform for our students to showcase their talent and the skills they learn in school.

“Enthuse is the first entrepreneurship secondary school in Nigeria. Every year, our students engage in different projects toward solving various problems. We want them to not just learn but apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.”
The festival culminated in an award ceremony where students whose projects ranked first, second, and third received cash prizes based on their performance, as judged by a panel.
The total prize money, amounting to N1 million, was provided by the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF).
The winning projects reflected ingenuity and practical problem-solving rooted in digital and solar-based solutions.
Dr. Goni Faruk, Chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum, emphasized ACF’s commitment to youth development beyond the event.
He stated that, “What we have done is collaborate with the school. We provided the prizes given today, up to N1 million. But more than that, we are registering an organization with the Corporate Affairs Commission to train and enhance their creativity so that this doesn’t just end here.
“We want to support them until companies are ready to invest in their ideas and scale them up,” Dr. Faruk added.
The Special Guest of Honour, Tajuddin Aminu Dantata, eldest son of the late business magnate Aminu Dantata, praised the initiative and called for wider support for entrepreneurial education.
He stated that, “We will always support entrepreneurship because it is the lifeline of every individual. Having a skill is even more important than formal education in the current economic climate.
“Skills help you create something with your hands or mind that can sustain you. I urge others to support talented youth who lack the means to turn their potential into something useful.”
The event reaffirmed the growing importance of skill acquisition and innovation in tackling youth unemployment and preparing students for the future of work.
