The House of Representatives, Special Committee on Crude Oil Thefts, has issued a strong warning against those involved in the dastardly acts of stealing the nation’s oil that the era is over and anybody found to be involved in it will face the full wrath of the Law.
The Chairman of the Special Committee, Alhaji Ado Alhassan Doguwa, gave the warning in a statement he personally signed, on Friday.
The statement said that, “We cannot in any way afford to allow the government to continue to wallow into global borrowing as a result of consequential leakages in the production circle of the oil and gas sector.”
He notes that the unfortunate act is largely caused by youth restiveness and unacceptable vandalisation of the nation’s critical infrastructure by vandals and criminals in the creeks, and this has to stop”

Doguwa, hints that the Committee was mandated by the Speaker Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, to unravel and unearth the remote and immediate causes of these devastating economic disaster within the oil and gas sector of the nation’s economy.
“The committee vows to do all it takes to save the Tinubu-led administration from these unfortunate happenings in the oil-producing areas. We will make sure the committee brings to book the culprits and their political cohorts.”

Doguwa further warned that “the attendant consequences of these crimes against the economy will obviously not allow our economy to breathe. President Tinubu’s commitment and determination to bring prosperity and economic wellbeing to our people is non-negotiable by whatever guise.”
